Transport corridor supply. 10 MW.
Vaggeryd is a crossroad midway between Sweden’s three main cities Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö. It is situated close to both railway and major roads and likes to describe itself as a place where the wheels are always moving. This central location has made Vaggeryd a natural hub for transport companies and logistic centres. Therefore, it is an interesting spot for production of hydrogen intended as fuel.

Vaggeryd south of Jönköping is strategically located close to several main roads, like E4 motorway and road 40. Along these routes a network of hydrogen refuelling stations is under development by project partner Hydri. Hydrogen produced in Vaggeryd can reach major truck customers with short transports. Lhyfe, a French hydrogen producer with experience from several European countries, is developing a 10-megawatt plant here. From late 2027, it will be able to produce up to 1,600 tonnes of renewable hydrogen per year. The waste heat from the production process will be used in Vaggeryd’s existing district heating network, making the most of every unit of energy. The hydrogen will be compressed and delivered in special multiple‑element gas containers on trailers, creating one of Sweden’s first dedicated hydrogen supply points along a major road.
